ANNUAL RECOGNITION & AWARDS
There will be an annual competition with awards given to the top three placements in each category. Big game animals entered in the annual competition must meet the following requirements:
- The trophy must have been taken in the state of Utah.
- The trophy must have been legally taken as prescribed by the rules and regulations of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and in accordance with fair chase standards.
- Trophies must be officially measured by a Boone & Crockett, Pope and Young or Longhunter Society measurer.
- Trophies need to be taken in the respective hunting season for that year’s competition.
- The Utah Big Game Records committee reserves the right to re-examine and re-measure a trophy at its discretion. Inaccurate measurements may disqualify a trophy. Disqualification may be made if actual trophy is not made available for reexamination.
- Big game that meet these requirements will be accepted into the records program and placed into the appropriate category and ranked. The Utah Big Game Records Committee reserves sole discrimination to determine whether a recognition award is given.
- The Utah Big Game Records Committee may invite trophies for display at the Awards Programs or Annual Competition recognition programs.
- Your articles and photos should be published in the annual Utah Big Game Record Book at the end of each respective year before releasing them to any other magazines or publications. The only exceptions are the Boone and Crockett Club, Pope and Young Club, The Longhunter Society.
Your trophy’s official Utah Big Game Awards certificate includes category, score, name, location and the awards period.
